4 months

josh
This month Josh has started blowing raspberries. He can roll over both ways, but he doesn't do it much from his tummy to his back (sometimes I wonder if he forgot how & then he'll do it). At the end of the month he started getting his knees up under his whole body, and can scoot himself forward. He is almost always happy. He's still been in pain this month from teething (no teeth yet). But even when he's hurting he'll be smiling. I can be doing something else, and look at this sweet guy and he will be giving me the biggest smiles. Even if I'm scolding Addie I'll look at Josh, and he'll have the biggest grin. It makes me laugh. The doctor found a spot on his pupil. We were very nervous about what it might be. You had a blessing, and we prayed a lot that your eyes would be okay. The pediatric optomologist said he has a birth mark on his eye (it's a brown spot on the clear covering of the pupil- can't see it). We were so relieved with good news. He is such a content & happy baby. The last few days he's been in a bit of pain and just wanted to be loved. Great sleeper!

Trip to the PEdiatric Optomologist

At Josh's 3 month check up the doctor noticed a black dot on his pupil. He referred us to a pediatric optomologist. Josh had his eyes dilated (something I have never even had done). He explained that it is a birthmark, and he is healthy. HOORAY!

Ladybug tea party

Fun day enjoying a tea party! It was great Addie was coerced to eat her sandwich- so she could have the cupcake. She worked so hard eating, and then just wanted to play. She said mom you and dad can share mine.

Resurrection Garden

She LOVED making this. Took the idea from my friend Erika.
We talked about what happened to Jesus
She kept asking what happened, and wanted us to tell her again and again. In three days everything will die. Then I'll replenish the garden, and update my post.

April Fools Day

 dinner
she was frustrated the juice wasn't coming out

Tim & Josh                                  Addie

 Storey                                        &   Boston
I had a super fun time getting Addie in the spirit of playing jokes, and being silly. However, I wasn't the best at taking pictures. The first thing we did was with nail polish (we dumped a bottle out on wax paper & left it where Tim would find it). He stepped in it, but didn't make a huge commotion about it. I was confused at where the puddle went. He casually asked me hey what is this, and I just started laughing. I went, and got Addie and she said April Fools. The other thing we did was something Addie requested. It seemed a bit  mean, but I figured we'd make sure it was safe. She saw a picture of ideas I'd pinned for April fools day. One idea had a toilet seat covered in tacks. So, we put some pins on the toilet seat. She thought it was so funny. I served them over easy eggs for lunch (yogurt with half a peach in the middle). They thought it was  funny. Actually Tim freaked out, and refused to eat it then Addie did the same (both items she'd typically eat) funny!  She was confused, and mad when her juice wouldn't come out of her straw because it was jello! ha ha! Next we had dinner with our friends the McIntyre's. I made shepards pie (looked like real pie kind of). Emily made cupcakes that looked like dinner by the was they were amazing. It was my favorite April fools day yet.

General Conference

addie & josh

Addie thought that Thomas Monson (the prophet) dropped off the treat/game bags. I made these to help her listen, and stay busy so that we could listen. It was as if Addie thought he was like a tricky leprechaun. A bit strange, but funny. I explained it was me who made the bags. I cut out some pictures of the first presidency, and the 12 apostles. She would grab the card of whom ever was speaking, and when she found it I would give her a bag. She LOVED it ... after it was over she kept asking are there more speakers. Of course not necessarily because she wanted to listen she wanted the bags.

St. Patty's Day

She loved the rainbow noodles! At first she didn't want them to touch her. & she's really into braids.
 The kiddos
sweet treat i made (i even did the shamrock)

This year we did homemade shamrock shakes. Went on a scavenger hunt, tricky Lucky left her a game in gold in the fridge. Our trap didn't catch him. She made a leprechaun hat, and put a pot of gold inside hoping to catch him, but he was too quick. She LOVED the trap he set up with pillows on the stairs. He changed the gold coins into gold nuggets this year. She asked where the gold coins were. We are learning the tricky leprechaun changes it up.  He hit up our toilets, and it was a fun filled tricky day. Then in the evening we had a tasty traditional Irish dinner with all of Tim's family.

3 Months

This month a few new things have started to happen. Josh started teething. He was a bit fussy the middle of the month. Now he seems to have his sweet temperament. He would still be smiling when he was fussing.  He also rolled over both ways. He's only done both ways twice. He will more frequently roll from stomach to back. He wiggles all over the crib. He can grab onto things really well. He likes to coo, and talk. He still has the sweetest smile, and will giggle. He's getting to small for the 3-6 month clothes pants are floods, and shirts are too short. He is so long! When I hold him his feet and legs feel like they wrap around my body. He's getting the cutest chubbiest cheeks.

New family member

Today at school Addie made a pet rock. She said mom now we have a new member of our family. She wanted me to make it lunch. I put out a plate if pretend food. She wasn't fully satisfied with the fake plate of food. She slept with it, and the name has changed but I thunk it's silver multicolor. Tomorrow she's going to the movies, and wants to take it. She is hilarious, and loves to pretend. By the way she slept with it. Her behavior was great yesterday!

Happy lovers holiday

We've had a streak of not so lovely behavior: writing in places that aren't allowed and smearing poop on the walls. However, she sure looks sweet asleep. 3 is a roller coaster- love the ups when she will help put dishes away, sit on my Lao and listen to me read book after book or when she's a helpful big sis and gets a passi or throws a diaper away, or is super excited to help with the family night lesson. Love being a mom, but she is a handful. For now Josh is a piece of cake. He is mellow, content and smiley.,, always happy unless he's being sat on yikes.

Love watching tim be a dad. He will play and pretend. He's a bit of a pushover (but he's working on it). I feel like are kids are so lucky. I just want to be better each day to be a good example. I for sure am working on my patience, thinking of consequences quick, and trying to remain calm. Unconditional love- something my grandma was/ is a great example of. I am feeling very blessed and loved... Eventhough it's cold in our house (new furnace coming).

2 months old

The doc says he is going to be 6'2. Sweetest smiley guy! He just lights up when you talk to him. He seems very easy going and happy! He coos is a nice sleeper we love him.

Last week at a party addie sat on him while he was in the carrier sleeping. Yikes! First month she was great, but we have seen some naughty behavior. Not wanting to go to bed nice, getting into everything, writing on stuff she shouldn't can't wait for these things to end. Mostly shes sweet to him asking constantly mom is he okay? Shes very protective (she went to kick a random lady at the store when she thought she was going to wake him up when she went to touch him). She's a handful!

The LURKER

Addie has some new friends in the neighborhood. One is in middle school and the other is in sixth or fifth grade. They love her, and she LOVES too play with them. We went outside to ride bikes. However, all Addie wanted to do was lurk outside their houses hoping they'd come out to play. I am not sure what to do about this...I don't want her to bother them all the time!

While Tim was AWAY

Joshua's big smile- He just lights up!
Doing a geography puzzel while Tim was gone. We had to find out where he was & where her cousins live now in Texas and grandma rose in Arizona and where Great Grandma Marchant lived in Utah. She also wanted to check the weather on my phone constantly.

Addie is so funny she is constantly pretending. She has such a temper though. Sometimes I am not sure if I even like her- not really how I feel but at times I'd like to flush her naughtiness down the toilet. Joshua is a sweetie. He seems so much easier than Addie was/is ha ha. He is constantly smiling, and Tim is convinced he is already a mommas boy. It is the sweetest thing I can be doing something not even paying attention to him, and I'll look at him he's been watching me (or so it seems he is) and he has the biggest smile. He will look at me for the longest time when I talk to him. His legs are getting so strong. He kind of tries to stand up- he really pushes up on his legs. His neck is getting so strong. It is remarkable how quick he's already changing. I just remember the first few days when we changed him diaper he would pee on us almost every time. Now it never happens (or hasn't in a long time). I don't miss that! Funniest thing is when Tim was in talking to him as I was changing him Addie was helping. We had to put the ointment on the circumcision so it was taking a little longer than usual. He started peeing Tim quickly backed out of the room. He didn't help at all too funny.

We are so proud of Tim he won top achiever aka one of the best bankers in the nation. He won a trip to Nashville with all the other top achievers. He said they threw an amazing party with a safari theme. Addie missed him so much it was tragic at bedtime. I don't know how people have their husbands travel. ..we  survived find. We all just really missed him...our house didn't seem the same. Addie was cute at bedtime last night she wanted to guess what surprise Tim was bringing all of us. She was convinced Tim was going to bring me something special (she said like jewelry - maybe earrings mom lol).

She really loves her brother, but it is a little tricky for her and good for her to have to share us and our attention. She was the only one for a long time. Church was good today. I always wanted to be a mom who never raised her voice. The talks were a good reminder that our children were heavenly fathers first.  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying every moment.

Started back teaching one period a day not bad. However, it is stressful I feel like part of my attention has to go to planning. I also feel a bit of anxiety all day or did Friday (hopefully just because it was the first day). It's hard keeping organized (naps exactly in time before I leave - having Joshua fed is the goal right before I leave). However, anyone who has nursed knows you can't force them to eat.

We are so blessed, and feel so lucky to have two wonderful children, a new home and just a lot of fun every day!

3 Special Preschool Days

Pajama Day
All ready for the class campout (tents were set up the children brought flashlights & stuffed animals)
YeeHaw It's cowboy day at preschool!

These special days are her favorite. Addie has an incredible imagination. So, these special days are so fun for her. She is still pretending she's Jessie (and she changed her rocking horses name from giddia to bulls eye).
 Ready to Roll
 Class roller skating field trip
When Tim took her out the first time she fell. Therefore she was a bit timid, and crabby. She didn't want to do it was more interested in the games outside the rink. But when her friends came over she was more than happy to grasp their hand and give it a try. At first she thought the skating area was ice.

A good day

 Joshua
Gwen, George, and Addie

Josh is a little sweetheart. In the last week my little Adeline has been a bit of a monster. It seems to all happen when dad arrives or shortly there after. She becomes a bit silly at first - to out of control. This week things have been better, and today has been a good day it was pajama day at school today and tomorrow.  Addie loved getting her slippers, flashlight and stuffed seal to take to school. They had a pretend fire, and tents set up all over the classroom. Then all she talked about is how nice it was to see Gwen (and take her chocolates). She can be so sweet. Few highlights: Addie being so excited to take her book of mormon to church (it went missing her small one) and when she found it she came in squealing with excitement. This week she's really been into reading books to me (she can't read she just tells me about what happens and some books she has memorized the exact words). As for the little guy he has the sweetest smile, and totally lights up when he hears my voice. He totally tracks me, and Tim says he always has his eye on me. We love him!
