Happy Birthday Grandma Rose

 

We hope you had a special birthday, and we wish we could be there with you to celebrate. Thank you for being a wonderful grandma, mom, and mother-in-law. We think Canada is too FAR AWAY! It was fun to have you hear... I loved how you would chase Adeline around, and make her laugh. It was fun to hear you sing to her, and just see how she would react. She loved that rocking chair even if it had to be put away because she's a little dangerous. COME BACK soon:) We love getting your phone calls to tell you about our day. Thanks for listening, laughing and understanding. You deserve to have a great day.

I love the fall, and this year the adventure at Apple Hill was a little different. It was different because Addie can walk. I had her in the stroller as long as possible... because my little sweetheart is fearless. It probably sounds mean, but she won't sit still. I even tried a doughnut. She was more interested in exploring. She wanted to run down this VERY steep hill. She toppled a little, and there were no tears. She is for sure tough... everyone around sighs, and I am usually wondering what happened and then almost always they are concerned about my little one. She almost ALWAYS pops right up happy as ever. She walked right up to every dog there. She's a friendly little one. Then the pond oh boy she wanted to join those fishes straightaway. We fed the fish. Lily and Addie loved it when they would splash. I think the ducks were by far her favorite. She just walked right up to them chattering something to them. She wanted to touch them, and she came pretty close. I don't know she wanted to touch them... I was a little concerned they might bite. How much damage can a duck really do? But I tried to keep her at a somewhat safe distance. I had to pretty much hold her back. Lily wasn't quit as thrilled about the ducks. She was interested, but didn't care to be as close as Adeline who really wants to be that close? We had a super day thanks for the invite Jackie and Grandma.

Baby Doll

My baby girl likes to feed her baby dolls. It is so funny... she hasn't really been a doll lover. She has liked them, but just hasn't loved them. UNTIL I got out this new high chair, opened up the spoon, and bowl. And Wa la she now loves to feed the babies and me. It is one of her favorite things to do. It's my favorite to watch my little darling. As she talks to the babies. She is less than gentle with the babies, but it is funny to watch.

A fun day at the zoo... animals didn't make the cut for the photos. It was a hot hot hot day, and most of them were hiding. Not only did we go to the zoo, but we also caught a ride on the train. After that we came back home made some dinner, did silly string and bubbles.

Adeline's 1st Birthday Party

Well what can I say the fastest year of my life just went in a flash. My baby girl is one, and this year we learned a lot about having a little girl and how to have  a birthday party. Who knew it was so complicated.

 Lessons learned:

1. Parks are a popular party place in Folsom- arrive EARLY 

I failed at arriving at 5:30 AM or reserving the park for $250 dollars

therefore we had no place to have a party- felt like a failure

2. NO RED FROSTING- it stained our skin, teeth and clothes

The cupcakes were a mess ... I am still working on the stains in her swim suit. Someone at the grocery store after thought I had a skin disorder.

3. Wind and table paper covers don't work

It was a waste of time, and money to get these at the dollar tree

4. In the end everything comes together PERFECTLY!

Everyone made it to the new park... with only minor complaints.  Water park was way better than the one we planned the party at, and Music Mike was at one of the other parties. 3 of us shared the area. One of the people had him at their party how cool is that. If you're not familiar with Music Mike he's the long haired guy in the pic with Adeline holding the morocco. She did not want to give it back to him. It was a happy day.

Another Day at the Water Park

Today she was so excited to set out on a new adventure. When ever the door opens, and she gets to go out she's thrilled. When the door opens, and closes but she has to stay inside her little almost one year old self has a melt down. She also had a melt down when I tried to put a hat on her today. She was very brave going through the water all by herself. She slipped twice... so we grabbed her shoes, and then she was safe from slipping. She didn't cry when she she slipped even though it was a total wipeout. She was as usual very interested in everyone's STUFF.

Another summer day at the water park. She just loves it, and loved to go over to the play ground, and back to the water. Along the way she likes to snatch other peoples stuff. She was cute running through the water like a big girl.

Tiny Tim

Happy Birthday! To my best friend... I just can't believe you were ever that small. He was just a little guy, and he wanted to get into this great big world earlier than he was suppose to. I think he's the same now he does things when he wants, and he always amazes me. I am just so impressed at the will of that little one in the pictures. What a strong little guy he was... to have to go through all that. That's my best friend. I love you hun! I put one picture of Adeline so you can compare their features.

11 Months

I can't believe she's eleven months old. She is walking, and wanting to run. Some of her favorite things to do are empty the tuper ware out of the cupboard. She is so cute when she plays peek-a-boo she'll use her hands or the see through tuper ware. Her facial expressions are so expressive. She raises her eyebrows, and looks so excited. We are discovering she loves cats. She likes to follow them, read books about them and have us use this cat puppet from the library. She loves to be outside. She almost always heads straight for this rock pile. She eats rocks, dirt lint anything she finds before me. She is making this growling sound still too funny (a lot). She is very active, and curious. She weighs 20 lbs 8 oz. She's wearing mostly 18 month clothing some 24 month. She has the bluest eyes. Everyone always comments on her big blue eyes. We love her, and can't believe how fast time is going by. It's fun to see where she wants to go now that she can walk. Adeline still loves books. Now it doesn't last long with her on my lap, but she'll sit for 15-20 min. just looking through books. However, she's started tearing some of the on accident (I think) when she tries to turn the page. She can say ma ma, da da (doesn't say ma ma very often) hi, go (sometimes), we think she says Addie. She use to say wow, and yay... haven't heard those for a while though. She catches onto things quick. I'll show her how to do something and she usually has it right away. 

New Car Seat

Thanks for the new ride Grandma Rose. Our little one is a great sleeper now. But she's usually on the go. She likes to walk all over the place. 

Ryan Joseph

Jaclyn and Adrian added a new little boy to their family, and we are so excited to have a new nephew. He was 8 lbs 8 ozs 21 inches long. I think he looks a lot like his dad.

My good friend Jenna had a sweet baby boy. She took all the photos, and I helped her design the birth announcement. It was super fun doing it... I really enjoyed it.

Hi DAD

We miss you, and love you. We are trying to have some fun while you are gone. Tim is gone for the week. He is in Arizona, and it is blazing hot. He is there for some work training.

Cousins at the Car Museum

 

We went to a fun car museum in Sacramento. Lots of cool cars to look at. I had to keep feeding Adeline the snacks. She loved climbing the stairs to get into the car we took the photo in. Everyone had great behavior, and it was fun.

The Slide

Too funny... We went to the park with Tim, and she loves standing at the bottom of slides trying to climb up. So Tim suggested we take her shoes off, and then she'd be able to climb up. As you can see she easily did. I couldn't believe it.

                                       All the cousins enjoying the water park. They were so excited to be together. Adeline likes to walk close to the sprayers but won't go through them too funny. She loved showing her cousins how she could climb up the slide. She just wanted to explore. She did not want to be held.

It is so hard to get a good shot of two kids together... WOW! Adeline loves this little chair. However, it's scary because she's fearless, and thinks she's invincible. She's a wild one. She almost tipped the chair over. I think at one point Lily was trying to turn the chair upside down with Adeline in it. Kids are so funny. 

American Idol Concert

So, despite the fact that almost every entry is about Adeline every so often I do something really fun by myself that is blog worthy. Last Friday thanks to my mother-in-law Carol. I was able to go to the American Idol concert with my sister-in-law Wauldina. I have always despised the show a bit. However, this season I got hooked. So, the concert was a real treat. I must admit I was a  bit disappointed by the winner this season. I have been told by many people they can't believe I am an Adam fan. I just like his voice.  I never vote so it's all just fun to watch. For the most part everyone was entertaining. A few of my favs were, Danny, Allison and obviously Adam. I must admit that I also liked Chris's performance. A little like karaoke, but his songs her good.  My favorite part of the whole night was a song Adam sang. The song was by the band Muse called Twilight it was great. Are there any American Idol fans out there?

Today we went and picked black berries. YUMMY! Adeline was funny. At first she was inspecting everything on the ground where I put her. She was eating flowers, and having a great time. Then she wandered over to me, and saw what I was doing and began to help. Berry picking is a bit prickly... but once she got one as you can tell she enjoyed a few berries in the field. She was a mess, but kids get messy right. We had a picnic lunch, and her and Owen played around so nicely. 

10 Months

At ten months I have my hands full. She is a curious little lady. Who has been wanting to be on the move for some time now. She has discovered how to open the cupboards, and has broke on glass measuring cup. The cupboards are now locked. She loves that she can open her toys. She loves being outside to eat rocks, and play in the dirt. She really enjoys the water. She growls, and makes all kinds of weird noises. My favorite is when she says hi... or hi da da. It's never hi ma ma. She can also say bye bye, but you have to listen carefully. Some other words are hey, and yeah. She says them high pitched. She is now walking about 6-9 steps. She's doing great, and loves it. I can't believe it. She is a great eater... sometimes the green veggies aren't her fav. She loves to dance. When music comes on, or if you hum a beat she bounces. Tim's amazed at the rhythm she has, and wonders where it came from. All and all she's got the cutest little personality she's determined, curious, and a bit feisty. She doesn't like to be held much, and she'll let you know she wants down. I can only hold her for stories, and sometimes before her nap she'll cuddle. Church is difficult right now because she just wants to crawl everywhere, and bang on the folding chairs. She gets a little frustrated she's not totally a walker yet. I think crawling is to slow so as she follows me around the house she wines sometimes. I think she wants to be faster.

She's Dangerous & Fearless

We had family over to our new place during the day. We had a DELICIOUS BBQ tri-tip YUMMY! We swam, we ate we had good company it was super fun. Then we went to have homemade ice cream and do fireworks what a treat. It was a relaxing patriotic fun filled day. 

Good Work TIM

Hip hip HOORAY Tim passed his first test the Series 7, and we celebrated. He's been studying so hard, and we're so proud of him.  He is going to make the best financial planner EVER. So to celebrate we were going to go to the carnival at the fair... too funny. So, there is a big rodeo in Folsom over the fourth weekend, and there's always a fair. However, this year it just so happened to break down and not make it. So, sad for us. However, the AWESOME train at the library (where the fair should've been) made up for it.
